Music Review: Four Year Strong – ‘Tread Lightly’

Following a three year absence, Four Year Strong are back with a new EP ‘Tread Lightly’ which is being released through Pure Noise Records. The single from this EP, shows a return to their more pop-punk roots.

As expected the chorus is incredibly anthemic and begs to be sung along to, and the gang vocals are back aplenty. The drumming is fast enough to give the song real pace, allowing it to feel quicker than it’s 3-and-a-half-minute run time. Unfortunately, the band let’s itself down with an incredibly cringe-worthy bridge, where they sing “I love my friends”, in a moment even Man Overboard would call “too cliche”. Regardless, the song shows potential and is a good comeback anthem. Expect big things once again.
